Deeksha Seth is an Indian film actress and model. A finalist in Femina Miss India in 2009, she made her acting debut in the Telugu drama film Vedam (2010).

 

Early life

Deeksha was born in Delhi. Since her father was working for ITC Limited and was often transferred, her family has been shifting regularly and living in various parts of India, including Maharashtra, ChennaiKolkata, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh as well as inKathmandu, Nepal. She finished her nursery and schooling up to third class in Chennai, and enrolled at a college in Mumbai. She attended a boarding school at Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer. She has one elder sister, who is currently living and working in Mumbai. She cites that she wanted to become an Underwater archaeologist.

Career

During her first year at college in 2009, she was spotted by a Femina Miss India contest scout during an NSS event, who persuaded her into modeling and to participate at the beauty pageant. She created a portfolio with the help of a friend of her father, and competed in the contest. In spite of her lack of modeling experience, she was one of the top 10 finalists, winning the Fresh Face title.
During a modeling assignment in Hyderabad, the casting director of the Telugu film Vedam by Krish, had spotted her. She was cast for the role of Pooja, the rich girlfriend of the lead character Cable Raju (portrayed by Allu Arjun), after 70 girls were rejected by the makers, citing that she "loved the script and decided to give it a shot". Vedam, an anthology drama film, opened to high critical acclaim, winning accolades at various award functions. In quick succession, she signed two more films, with the Ravi Teja-starrerMirapakaay releasing next, which emerged a high commercial success. Two weeks later after Mirapakaay, the action drama Wanted with Gopichand, which constituted her debut as a lead female character, released and ended up as a box office bomb. 
She has been signed for three more Telugu projects, Rebel alongside Prabhas and Tamanna Bhatia, Nippu opposite Ravi Teja again, and the socio-fantasy film Uu Kodathara? Ulikki Padathara?. She was also been roped in for two Tamil films, Suseenthiran'sRajapattai with Vikram, as well as the Silambarasan-starrer Vettai Mannan, scheduled to release in 2013.

Debasree Roy


Debashree Roy (Bengaliদেবশ্রী রায় Debosri Rae) is a Bengali cinema actress. She acted in more than 100 films and has 40 awards, including a National Film Award for Best Actress for the film Unishe April in 1995. She acted with the screenname 'Chintamani' inTamil film industry, where she acted in a few Tamil movies.

Life

Roy was born to Birendra Kishore Roy and Arati Roy of Kolkata, West Bengal and was brought up there. At the age of 5 years, she acted in a movie named "Pagol Thakur" (1967), which was directed by Harimoy Sen. In 1969, she appeared as a child artist in the movie "Balok Gadhadhar". As a child artist, at the age of 9 years, she appeared in the movie "Kuheli" (inspired by Rebecca) directed by Tarun Majumdar.

She was a student of APG School (Park English School) but did not continue with her studies for long, because of her knack for dancing and acting. She is a well-known Odissidancer. She started her dancing career as a stage performer in her early years. She took her dancing lessons from her mother, her elder sister Purnima Roy, Bandana Sen andKelucharan Mahapatra. She had her own dance group Nataraj.

Career

Roy was very successful in Bengali films landing important lead roles in commercial as well as parallel cinema. The high point of her career was her National Award winning role of a young doctor from a dysfunctional family in the Rituparno Ghosh film Unishe April. In the televised version of the Indian epic Mahabharata, directed by B.R.Chopra, she portrayed the role of Satyavati, second wife of the king Shantanu of Hastinapur, stepmother of Gangaputra Bheeshma, and mother of Chitrangada and Vichitravirya.
As a female lead she first appeared in the film Nadi Theke Sagare directed by Arabinda Mukhopdhay opposite Mithun Chakraborty. Her major films were Dadar Kirtiby Tarun Majumdar, 36 Chowringhee Lane by Aparna Sen, Unishe April by Rituporno Ghosh, Kabhi Ajnabi The, Poolwari, Jiyo to Ayese Jio, Mamta Ki Chhao Mein, Justice Choudury etc. She won the National Award for the Best Actress in the year 1996 for Unishe April.

Politics

Debashree, currently a Trinamool Congress MLA, successfully contested the West Bengal assembly elections 2011 against heavyweight CPI(M) candidate and former minister Kanti Ganguly, from the Raidighi (Vidhan Sabha constituency).

Personal life

She was married to Bengali actor Prasenjit Chatterjee (son of Biswajit, Bengali and Hindi film hero of the 80's & 90's) for a brief period. Debashree Roy is the maternal aunt of Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee.

Chitrashi Rawat is an Indian former hockey player, film actress and Television presenter. She began playing Hockey as a left-striker at the age of 17 for Uttarakhand state in India. Her film career began in 2007, when she starred as Komal Chautala, a member of theIndian women's national hockey team, in the movie Chak De India opposite Shahrukh Khan.



Career

Chitrashi had a craze for playing Hockey since childhood, and at the age of 17, began playing as left striker for Uttarakhand state in India. 
She was picked for the role of a hockey player in the movie Chak De! India by the producers after an audition in Jabalpur. The film turned out to be Blockbuster worldwide, and Chitrashi shot to fame. In 2008, she starred in her second venture, Fashion. The film was a success at the box office, however managed to succeed at critical acclaim. She had a main role in the 2009 action film, Luck opposite superstars Sanjay DuttImran KhanShruti HassanMithun ChakrabortyRavi Kissen and many others. Luck also received critical acclaim, but did average business at the box office.
Her latest films include Yeh Dooriyan and 2012 hit Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.
Rawat is a former student of the Guru Nanak Academy. Daughter of TS Rawat, a resident of Raipur, Uttarakhand, Chitrashi regularly represents the Uttarakhand hockey team in the national championships. Currently, she is studying at St Andrew FYBMM pursuing her bachelor's degree in mass media. She has campaigned for Minute Maid pulpy orange, along with co-stars Vidya Malvade and Sagarika Ghatge.
She hails from Dehradun. She is also hosting Star Gold's Sabse Favourite Kaun. She was also a contestant in a Comedy Circus 2 of Optimystix. She has acted in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion as Shomu and recently as 'Shortkut' in the 2009 action thriller movie titled Luck. She subsequently participated in Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Indian remake of I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

Chitrangada (born 28 March 1976) is an Indian film actress. She is best known for starring in Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi (2005) and for her first mainstream commercial film, Desi Boyz (2011). She was married to Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa.



Early life

Chitrangada Singh was born in JodhpurRajasthan. Her brother is golfer Digvijay Singh. As a girl, she was known for looking like the late actress Smita Patil. "You have outdone Smita Patil", said Shekhar Kapur, when he saw Chitrangada Singh's performance in her debut movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003). She received training in Kathak (a classical dance) and enjoyed acting.



Career

She began her career in Delhi as a model before making the transition to the silver screen. After completing her education, she entered modeling, where her ad credits include ICICI bank and Alukkas Jewellery, and gradually shifting to music videos, she performed inGulzar's "Sunset Point." It was in a music video of singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, that she was spotted by Sudhir Mishra’s production manager. Subsequently, she made her much acclaimed debut withSudhir Mishra's film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi in 2003. The role got her wide acclaim: aWashington Post review noted her for giving "her character a deep sense of dignity and decency." After that Chitrangada acted in the 2005 film Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow. Chitrangada made her debut as an item girl in Shirish Kunder's Joker. Also she is to lend her voice to a score in the movie.

She took a break from acting from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, she made her comeback with the leading role opposite Sanjay Suri in the director Onir's romantic-comedy, Sorry Bhai!. Its release over the weekend of the Mumbai terror attacks proved disastrous at the box office.
 In Sudhir Mishra's movie Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011), Chitrangada played the role of an aspiring singer from Delhi who goes to Mumbai to get fame and money. She then starred in Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz, where she played the role of an economics teacher oppositeAkshay KumarDesi Boyz also starred John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. Chitrangada is brand ambassador for Airtel, Parachute,Puma, Borges Olive Oil, Garnier, Aliva Crackers, Taj Mahal Tea and Joyalukkas Jewellers. She unveiled Tanishq's new collection at Tote in Mumbai on Wednesday 13 Oct 2010 afternoon.

Her latest movie is I, Me Aur Main, which is a directorial debut by Kapil Sharma starring John Abraham and Prachi Desai.

Personal life

Chitrangada Singh is married to golfer Jyoti Randhawa. They have a son named Zorawar.
